Operating our heaters is very easy.

  1. Prepare your room for treatment
  2. Set up the heater (it’s just plug and play!)
  3. Leave it running for about six hours.

The room will heat up the target temperature zone of 115-143ºF. All bed bugs will die at that temperature within minutes. Leave the heater running for a few hours to be sure you’ve penetrated all clutter and crevices. And now you’re bed bug free!

How to Prepare

Store-bought Pesticides

Before beginning treatment, do not use any over-the-counter pesticide bombs, foggers, sprays or dusts. These products are known as “repellents”, which will drive bedbugs into your walls and other rooms. This will severely diminish effectiveness of the heater. If you have already used these products, give us a call and we can help sort it out.

Clean the Room

To begin the heat prep process, vacuum and sweep off flooring. Declutter as much as possible while permanently disposing of all trash and unwanted items before treatment.

Make sure to not leave any animal hair in the room. Hair is hazardous to the equipment and your indoor air quality once agitated by the heat system.

Furniture

With heat treatment, air flow is the key to reaching lethal temperatures in all areas.

Open all drawers and unpack any overly packed or stuffed areas. Arrange items loosely in closets so that heat can circulate between them.

Pull furniture about 6 inches from the walls. Sleeper sofas must be completely pulled out, and please drain or deflate any water or air mattresses. Remember, air flow is the key.

Some window blinds have a very low heat tolerance. You may want to remove and wash them before treatment.

Belongings

High power fans are used during this process. Loose papers should be secured or weighted down. Pictures and posters may be blown down and should thus be taken down and laid flat.

Unplug all electronics except for major appliances.
